Head UIS Women's Soccer Coach Erin Egolf has resigned after nine seasons as the leader of the program.
Egolf was with the program for fourteen consecutive years, starting as a student-athlete in 2010.
"Coach
Egolf's dedication to propelling our women's soccer program forward over the past decade has been nothing short of remarkable," stated Interim Director of Athletics Dr.
Jamarco Clark. "As someone who has been involved in various capacities – from student-athlete to assistant coach and eventually head coach – her impact on the program will be lasting. We are immensely grateful for her contributions and wish her the utmost success in her future endeavors."
Egolf finished the 2023 season with a coaching record of 53-65-15. The team advanced to the
GLVC Championship Tournament in consecutive years for the first time in the program's history. The program's all-time
winningest coach saw milestones with the program in the last two seasons. Prairie Stars women's soccer had program highs of 10 wins, 26 goals and 7 conference wins in 2022, also picking up its first postseason win and advancing to the
GLVC Championship game. In 2023, the Stars finished 6th in
GLVC play after tying a program record in conference wins (7) and gaining the most points in conference history (23) with a 7-4-2 record. Over a span of eight conference games, the Stars held a 6-1-1 record, which included a win over the conference-leading Drury Panthers.
Egolf was a star player at UIS from 2010 to 2012, and remains the record holder in career goals, single-season points, and single-season goals. She was the program's first All-Region athlete, as well as one of the program's first
All-GLVC honorees.
UIS Athletics will begin a national search for the next head women's soccer coach.Â
