Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Drury Panthers

The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team found a long awaited win against the Drury Panthers, defeating the conference opponent for the first time since 2018. The Panthers are atop the GLVC standings with a 9-2-1 overall record as UIS moves into the 4th position at 4-2-1.

"I couldn't be more proud of the team," said Coach Egolf, "This was a good win for us and super well-deserved. It should give us a lot of confidence heading into our next away weekend."

  • The teams battled through nearly 18 minutes before a shot was produced by either side
  • Madison Grandys scored assisted by Carolyne Mathenia and Abby Dellamorte. It was just the fifth goal allowed by Drury this season
  • Panther's goalkeeper Kaitlin Knetze produced four saves, two per half
  • UIS outshot DU 9-5 while the Panthers had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks 
  • Allison Mirimanian made a major save late in the game to preserve the shutout
