Frequently Asked Questions

How do I attend a UIS Athletics event? Do I need a ticket?
UIS students get in free to all regular-season home events—no ticket needed! Just bring your UIS I-Card or Connection QR code to the gate.

Ticket operations are active for basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Families, guests, and community members can purchase digital tickets in advance through:
  • uisprairiestars.com
  • The HomeTown Fan App (available on iOS & Android)
Digital tickets are scanned at the gate. UIS does not regularly ticket for regular season baseball, softball, tennis, or cross country.

Where can I find game schedules and team information?
All schedules, rosters, results, and news can be found at uisprairiestars.com, where each team has its own home page.
You can also follow @UISAthletics on social media for reminders, game highlights, and special event announcements.

Is there assigned seating or a student section at games?
Seating is general admission at most UIS Athletics events. Students are encouraged to sit together in student sections, where we often offer giveaways, contests, and spirit-themed promotions.

I’m a parent of a student-athlete. Can I attend games for free?
For some sports, parents of student-athletes may be admitted via a pass list on a game-by-game basis. NCAA rules prohibit last-minute additions, so families should coordinate with their student-athlete in advance of travel plans. If not on the pass list, families should purchase tickets through the HomeTown Fan App or uisprairiestars.com.

How can I support Prairie Stars Athletics?
You can:
  • Attend games and cheer loudly!
  • Engage with our social media!
  • Make a gift to support Athletics initiatives (scholarships, facility upgrades, etc.)
  • Encourage your student to get involved as a fan, intern, or part-time gameday staff.

Can I watch games online?
Yes! Many home and away games are streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) at glvcsn.com/uis.

I want to work or volunteer at UIS games. How do I get involved?
We offer several opportunities for UIS students to get involved behind the scenes at Prairie Stars athletic events:

Part-time Event Staff Positions: Help with tickets, concessions, stats, scoreboard, and more.
  • When positions are open, you can find them on Handshake, the UIS student employment portal.
Internships: Students interested in athletic communications, marketing, or operations may apply for internship roles that offer hands-on experience in a collegiate athletics environment.
  • Contact a UIS Athletics staff member to learn more.Â
