The University of Illinois Springfield Athletic Communications Office is available to assist you with coverage of all 17 Prairie Stars athletic teams. We will be happy to serve you during the athletic season. The Athletic Communications Office is located inside the Recreation and Athletic Center. For information regarding credentials, interviews, statistics, etc., please call (217) 206-8195, visit UISPrairieStars.com or email Libby Price (lpric3@uis.edu) with any other questions.

To assist you during the season, please take time to read the media information found on this page. Briefly, interviews must be arranged through the Athletic Communications Office at least one day (24 hours) in advance. Please make the office aware of any interviews conducted via phone. All UIS practices are closed to the media without prior notification given to UIS Athletic Communications.

How to refer to UIS
We ask that you refer to our institution as Illinois Springfield or University of Illinois Springfield on the first reference and as UIS or Prairie Stars on subsequent references. Please refrain from referring as IS or Springfield.

New Student-Athletes
All new Illinois Springfield student-athletes, including transfers, are required to fill out a student-athlete questionnaire so that we can keep an accurate record of your time at UIS. Click HERE to fill out the questionnaire or download it and fill it out before faxing it to: 217-206-7706

MEDIA GUIDELINES

Media Credentials
Credentials for University of Illinois Springfield home athletic events, as well as sideline passes, will only be issued to working media outlets. If you wish to obtain credentials, please contact the UIS Athletic Communications Office at least three days prior to the event. Any person wishing to take photos must also obtain credentials.

Interview Policy
All UIS coaches and players are normally available for interviews following a 10-minute post-game cool down period, as per NCAA regulations. Please ask a member of the athletic communications staff to arrange an interview. The UIS Department of Athletics does not hold weekly press conferences. All interviews with coaches and student-athletes must go through the athletics communication office. Please give at least 24 hours notice for interview requests.
