The UIS women's soccer team, led by head coach Scott Myers and assistant coach Hailey Parungao, welcomed nine high school seniors in the class of 2026 into the program on National Signing Day. Joining the Prairie Stars are Macey Young, Alaina Stock, Raelyn Brammer, Elyse Severson, Aubrey Quigley, Brooklyn Termine, Bridget Lyons, Aubry Thomas and McKenzie Coleman.

Coach Myers shared his perspective on the 2026 signing class, offering insight into each student-athlete and how they fit into the future of the UIS women's soccer program.

Macey Young – GK — She will be an amazing addition to our GK union, as she is full of energy and an amazing team player. Macey has an infectious personality that she takes to every training session. She will no doubt push our players to be better each day. A great leader on her current club team, Central Illinois United, we expect her to come in and help contribute right away.

"I am very excited for Macey to join our program. When we first identified her, we noticed her leadership ability first and her soccer ability right after. Macey will be a great addition to our GK union as she has an impressive work rate. I am grateful we are able to bring in the caliber of goalkeeper Macey is in our 2026 class."

Alaina Stock – Defender — A local product of Rochester High School, Alaina has made a name for herself as a goal scorer and a player to watch during the high school season. She fits in perfectly with our style of play and desire to attack from the back. She is attack-minded and will no doubt help transform our style of play.

"Alaina is going to be a great addition to our back line, who we expect to see in the wide channel for us, running at opponents in the GLVC. She is going to be a threat on defense and will continue our tradition of solid outside backs in our conference."

Raelyn Brammer – Forward — Having a player of Raelyn's athletic ability come into our program is a huge win for us. Raelyn has been a standout for Pleasant Plains High School, playing three seasons already as a varsity player. Raelyn will be a threat up top with her speed and ability to cross and finish.

"Raelyn's ability to get behind defenders is something we are very excited about adding into our program. She has versatility in where we can play her along the front line and fits into our style of play."

Elyse Severson – Midfield — Elyse is joining an impressive midfield group that stood out in the GLVC this past season as one of the best core midfield groups. Coming from Wisconsin, Elyse spent time with both SC Wave and Northshore United during her recent club career. She brings a sense of calm, technical control on the ball, with a bit of a physical edge to her.

"Elyse is an exceptional person and player, and I am very excited to get to work with her over these next four years. She will be someone who continuously grows and raises her ceiling each year, which is exactly what we are looking for in our program. She is going to be someone who can play in our midfield and forward line to give us depth and balance."

Aubrey Quigley – Center Mid — Aubrey is coming to Springfield after competing with Kansas City Scott Gallagher and Kansas Rush during her club career and Olathe Northwest for her high school. Aubrey is a talented, confident center mid who can battle defensively and break away to start a counterattack with her technical abilities. She fell in love with the deer on her visits and how quiet the campus was.

"I am very excited to get to work with Aubrey as she is a confident center midfielder who is hungry to be on the field. Aubrey's confidence will be infectious in our program, and she has a perfect mix of what we needed to balance out our strong midfield group with her technical ability and physicality to compete at a high level in the GLVC."

Brooklyn Termine – Holding Mid — Brooklyn is coming off four great seasons with Central Illinois United, where she competed against some of the most talented players in the country in the Girls Academy League. Brooklyn will come into the midfield for the Prairie Stars and be an immediate impact for the program. She comes in with a high technical level, and her soccer IQ is already at the next level.

"Brooklyn is going to be amazing for us in the GLVC. She can adapt to several different playing styles, which is needed in the GLVC to be successful. She is someone who will be a quiet leader in our program as her voice and role grow over the next four years."

Bridget Lyons – Forward — Bridget does not travel far, coming from Springfield High School and playing with Scott Gallagher Illinois. During her time with Springfield High, she has continued to grow her reputation as a stout defender, but also a prolific goal scorer. Bridget brings a huge amount of athleticism and technical merit into the Prairie Stars in the fall. Having been a national champion with her club team, Scott Gallagher, as well as a two-time national champion in 3v3, she will no doubt raise the standards as she comes in to compete in the fall.

"Bridget is a great signing for this program, showing that our local players have a home to compete at a high level with success during their collegiate career. I am very excited to get Bridget in next fall and begin working with her on our front line to help us grow our scoring threats."

Aubry Thomas – Center Back — Aubry is our second member to join the program from Scott Gallagher. Having spent the past four years competing for national championships each year, Aubry brings a calm and collective sense to her style of play. Aubry has been a multisport athlete at Gibault Catholic High School, competing as a starting varsity soccer and volleyball player. She has won numerous all-conference awards in both sports during her time at Gibault.

"I am very excited for Aubry to join our back line. She has a calm and composure about her that is difficult to find. She looks to build the play with precision passing, but also has the ability to play long and unlock a defense. I have no doubt Aubry will grow and become one of the best center backs this program has ever seen."

McKenzie Coleman – Forward — McKenzie comes to UIS after playing for Evolution Soccer Club out of Naperville, Illinois. She has also competed for Oswego East High School, where current UIS players Emma Rosenthal and Maddie McGregor also played. Known for her presence as a tireless worker and strong physical presence, Kenzie brings a blue-collar mentality that will serve her well for the Prairie Stars.

"McKenzie was our first signee in the 2026 class and helped start the recruiting class off with excitement. Kenzie is going to be a force in the GLVC with her athleticism and technical abilities. She has an edge to her that will be difficult to defend as she runs at conference opponents."

Coach Myers expressed excitement for this class, expecting that this group will continue the program's growth and raise standards immediately. This class will help elevate the program while fitting perfectly with its core values. With the graduation of 10 student-athletes from the program this year, they expect the 2026 class to come in and compete for time on the field right away.

Go Stars!
