The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches team Academic Award this week. That honors goes to soccer teams that achieved a 3.00 GPA or higher mark for the 2018-19 school year.
 
The Prairie Stars achieved a team GPA of 3.60 during the last school year, which ranked third among programs in the GLVC. UIS has now earned this honor for the last eight seasons, including all three years under head coach Erin Egolf.
 
UIS is currently 5-3 on the season, and 4-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars will return to Kiwanis Stadium tomorrow with a 5 p.m. game against Quincy.
