The Jimmy John’s Athlete of the Month award, sponsored by Jimmy John’s at 219 S 6th St. in Springfield, celebrates the outstanding achievements of UIS student-athletes each month of competition throughout the school year. Each recipient is selected based on their performance, dedication, and contributions to their team. Honorees receive special recognition at the annual Night of Stars Athletics banquet and become nominees for the Athlete of the Year awards, awarded to one male and one female student-athlete for their excellence in sportsmanship and competitive success. This partnership with Jimmy John’s highlights the hard work and commitment of Prairie Stars athletes across all sports.
