Jimmy John’s Athlete of the Month | April

Elaine Grant of UIS women's golf has been selected as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month for April 2024. Grant had three top-10 finishes in the month of April, including the third place finish at the GLVC Championships that allowed her to claim a spot on the GLVC's First Team.

Grant ranks No. 192 in NCAA DII and No. 24 in the East Region according to the most recent Clippd rankings.

The sophomore just led the UIS women's golf team to its sixth place finish at the GLVC Championships. It was announced on Monday that the Prairie Stars earned an at-large bid for the East Regional. UIS will compete in a fifteen-team field at the event, which will be hosted by UIndy in Carmel, Ind. on May 6-8.

April's edition of the award was announced to a live audience of student-athletes at the annual Night of Stars Athletics Banquet on Monday night, where Elaine joined Jimmy John's monthly award winners from the 2023-24 school year on stage.

UIS student-athletes in regular season or postseason action in the Month of May will vie for the final Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month award for the 2023-24 school year.
