Jimmy John’s Athlete of the Month | May

Cort Ross of UIS men's track and field has been selected as the final Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month for the 2023-24 year of competition.

Ross finished third in the men's 5,000 meter run at the GLVC Championships at the start of the month. He also took 7th place in the 1500 meter run to total eight points at the league's annual championship meet.

The senior ended the season ranking No. 22 in NCAA DII in the men's 10,000 meter run.

UIS student-athletes in regular season or postseason action in the Month of May who had not already won the award in their respective sport were considered for the award.

The senior is one of seven Prairie Stars that have been recognized this year as a Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month.
