Elias Shehadi transferred from Dupage College to Sangamon State University in 1976 where he had an immediate impact on the brand-new soccer program under the direction of Coach Aydin Gonulsen. In his two years at SSU, the team combined to go 29-13-1, including a 15-5-1 record in 1978. He was named to the NAIA District 20 First Team in 1977 and 1978 and earned a spot on the NAIA Area II All-Star team in 1978.
The Israel native ranks second all-time in the SSU/UIS record book with 61 goals and 143 points and is tied for third with 21 assists.
Shehadi coached high school soccer for two years and was a volunteer coach for the Olympic Development program for eight years. He currently owns and operates Sports Page, which is a globally-known soccer shop.
