The University of Illinois Springfield men's golf team ended its regular season with a third-place showing at the UIS Spring Invitational on Saturday.
 
The event, which was shortened to 18 holes after Sunday's round was cancelled, saw the Prairie Stars shoot a 310. Lewis won the 11-team event with a 288.
 
Louis Bagur had a top-10 finish after tying for sixth with a two-over 74. He had 13 pars and knocked two birdies into the holes. Other scores from the team were Daniel Nyman with a 77, Jaime Kreisler with a 79, and Steffen Heckele and Daniel Miller with scores of 80.
 
Five UIS players played as individuals, led by Sebastian Trujillo who tied for third with a 72. Spencer Jury shot an 80, James Scargell and Nick Patton had marks of 83, and Dayton Pate shot an 89.
 
UIS will start play in the GLVC Championships on Sunday, April 21, at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill.
