Illinois Springfield completed the opening round of the 2026 GLVC Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday at Rock Hollow Golf Club and sits in seventh place as play heads into Thursday's final rounds of stroke play.

The Prairie Stars posted a team score of 305 in round one and began second-round play before action was suspended for the day. UIS will resume round two on Thursday morning before completing the third and final round of the 54-hole stroke play portion.

Vilgot Arleback led the Prairie Stars in the opening round with a 74 and is tied for ninth overall while midway through his second round. Julien Babineau (76) and Jake Baldin (76) are both positioned inside the top 30, while Sacha Lamraski (79), Daniel Edwards (80), and Sahachat Noosong (83) rounded out the Prairie Stars lineup.

UIS will return to the course Thursday morning to finish round two and complete the final round of stroke play, with standings after 54 holes determining advancement within the championship format.
