UIS Men’s Golf Finishes 17th at Ken Partridge Invitational

UIS men's golf finished 17th at the Ken Partridge Invitational after posting a three-round total of 923 at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.

The Prairie Stars improved by 12 strokes from the opening round to the second, carding rounds of 314, 302, and 307 over the 54-hole event.

Jake Baldin and Julien Babineau led UIS with matching totals of 233 to tie for 78th overall. Baldin opened with an 80 before shooting a 75 in round two and closing with a 78. Babineau followed a similar path, improving from an 81 in the first round to a pair of strong closing rounds of 75 and 77.

Daniel Edwards, Sacha Lamraski, and Vilgot Arleback all finished one stroke back of the team leaders at 234, tying for 84th place. Edwards put together rounds of 78, 75, and 81, while Lamraski carded a first-round 77, bounced back from an 80 in the second round, and closed with a round of 77. Arleback was the most consistent Prairie Star of the weekend, staying in the 70s all three rounds with scores of 79, 77, and 78.

Charles Prins rounded out the UIS lineup in a tie for 100th place at 239. After opening with rounds of 84 and 80, Prins ended the tournament on a high note with the team's best final round, shooting a 75.

Grand Valley State University won the team title with an 863, finishing 19 strokes ahead of the field. Individually, Manuel Cue claimed medalist honors after shooting a 212 over three rounds.

The regular season has come to a close, and UIS will begin its preparation for the GLVC Championship from April 22-24 in Peru, Ind.
