Soccer to Host Winter Clinic on Dec. 22

SPRINGFIELD IL - The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team is hosting a winter soccer clinic at the Recreation and Athletic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 22. The clinic starts at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 7:30 p.m.

"We are thrilled to offer an opportunity to work with local boys and girls," said UIS head women's soccer coach Molly Grisham. "We are excited to help develop them as players and have some fun playing soccer."

The clinic is open to boys and girls ages five to 12 and serves as a way to allow young kids to spend time and have fun with collegiate soccer players and coaches.

Participants should wear tennis shoes and shinguards, bring a soccer ball and bring the attached medical/insurance form. The clinic will be run by the UIS men's and women's soccer coaches and players.

The cost of the clinic is $20 per child and $15 for additional siblings.

"We know the holidays can be a busy time for parents," said Grisham, "and we hope to provide an event where kids can get out of the house and have some fun playing soccer."
