The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer program has announced the hiring of Christian Casciano as an assistant coach.

"I am very grateful for this opportunity and very excited to impact this program on and off the field," said Casciano. "The University and program speak for themselves! The standard that has been set by Coach Egolf is one to admire, and I am very excited to add to that and achieve our goals as a program!"

Casciano is a graduate of Georgian Court University, where he played 3 seasons under Head Coach Dino Raso. During that time, the team made three straight CACC conference playoff appearances, including an appearance in the conference championship game in 2019. The team compiled a record of 32-22-3 in that three-year span. 2018 was the highlight of the three seasons, as his team went on a 10 game winning streak and got recognized as high as 17th in the Nation by The United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll.

"I am thrilled that Christian is joining our women's soccer family!," shared Coach Egolf. "He brings a good amount of experience to the position and has a great energy about him. Christian is a welcome addition to our staff and I look forward to seeing his positive impact on the team and program!"

Casciano holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Georgian Court and a Master's in Business Administration from Alliance University.
