Sierra Cenek Earns First Team D2 CCA All-Region Honors

Sierra Cenek was voted to the Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) Women's Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. She became the UIS women's soccer program's first-ever selection to a regional First Team.

Cenek put together a 7-goal 2-assist senior season, helping the team to a 7-5-6 overall record and its second consecutive GLVC Tournament berth.

Cenek was named the United Soccer Coaches College Player of the Week after scoring five goals in a single weekend that included the first hat trick of her career, and the first in a decade for UIS women's soccer.

Cenek was named to the D2 CCA Second Team in 2022 and 2021. She was voted to the All-GLVC Second Team this season after making the Third Team in 2022.

Sports Information Directors from across the NCAA Division II Midwest Region nominated candidates for each of the four position categories. Once the nomination process concluded, school and conference communication professionals from across the region voted for the two D2 CCA Midwest Region teams. The Midwest region is made up of member schools from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Great Lakes Valley Conference
