UIS Looks to End Slide at Home against St. Joes & UIndy

SPRINGFIELD, IL --- After beginning the year 4-0, the Prairie Stars have dropped three straight games as we head into the third weekend of conference play. They look to reverse that trend as they return home to face Saint Joseph's College (0-2-2, 0-1-2) and the University of Indianapolis (3-3, 2-2). Both games will be played at Kiwanis Stadium, marking the first games played there this season.

SETTING THE SCENE
Illinois Springfield has yet to yield more than two goals in a game this season, riding freshman goaltender Courtney Johnson to a 4-0 start. Since then, UIS has dropped three consecutive decisions, scoring one goal over that span.

UIS returns home after their first true road trip of the season, traveling to UMSL and Maryville over the weekend. They are 0-2 at true road sites year while yielding a 2-0 record at neutral sites and 2-1 mark at home.

SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S (0-2-2, 0-1-2)
Through four games in the 2016 season, the Puma's have notched just one goal, resulting in a 1-1 tie at Drury University. They were best by a 4-0 score by Ferris State and Rockhurst before playing to a scoreless draw against William Jewell in their last match.

Their one goal is the fewest among all 16 teams in the GLVC while also attempting the least amount of shots (29), 14 fewer than the next team. However, their .859 save percentage ranks third in the GLVC and the teams 55 saves is the most in the conference, 20 more than the next highest team.

SCOUTING INDIANAPOLIS (3-3, 2-2)
Opposite of Saint Joseph's, the Greyhounds lead the lead in scoring, having notched 23 goals this season --- the lone team with over 20 goals on the year. Their +2.66 scoring margin also leads the league, having surrendered just seven goals on the year. UIndy has put 106 shots up this season, 77 more than St. Joes but just 12 more than the Prairie Stars.

However, the Hounds built this goal cushion by beating Salem International 17-0 in the opening game of the season. Since that game, UIndy has scored six goals in five games.

The Prairie Stars will return to the road next weekend, traveling to Wisconsin – Parkside before closing out the road trip at Lewis University. Currently, both teams are in the top-six of the GLVC.
