SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team opens the 2015 season this weekend in Nashville against Rockhurst and Tiffin.

The game schedule for the weekend is listed below:


Friday, February 27 vs Rockhurst, 1 p.m.
Saturday, February 28 vs Tiffin, 1 p.m.
Saturday Febraury 28 vs Rockhurst, 4 p.m.
Sunday, March 1 vs Tiffin, 12 p.m.
Sunday, March 1 vs Rockhurst, 3 p.m.

The Prairie Stars put together their best season ever in 2014, winning 28 games and reaching their first-ever GLVC Tournament. The 2015 squad features eight returners and 26 new players.

The 2015 schedule includes games against Division I opponent Western Illinois, NCAA DII defending-national champion Southern Indiana and a stretch of 16 games in 16 days.
