Three UIS baseball players earned All-Region recognition this week, collecting honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) following standout 2026 seasons.

Corey Boyette was named First Team All-Midwest Region by both the NCBWA and D2CCA after one of the top offensive seasons in program history. The senior outfielder hit .386, totaling 80 hits, 73 runs scored, 19 doubles, 16 home runs and 58 RBIs across 56 games. He also posted a .739 slugging percentage and .498 on-base percentage while drawing 39 walks.

Boyette ranked among the GLVC leaders throughout the season and added his name to the UIS record book with a top-10 single-season batting average and one of the top slugging percentages in program history. He was also named First Team All-GLVC honors earlier this spring.

As a First Team D2CCA All-Region selection, Boyette advances to the national ballot for All-America consideration.

Tommy Atkinson earned First Team All-Midwest Region honors from the NCBWA and Second Team recognition from D2CCA following a strong junior season in the Prairie Stars outfield. Atkinson batted .384, recording 86 hits, 74 runs scored, 19 doubles, 12 home runs and 65 RBIs.

His 74 runs scored rank fifth in UIS single-season history, while his 86 hits rank fourth all-time. Atkinson also added 10 stolen bases and was one of the league's most consistent offensive contributors throughout the season. He joined Boyette as a First Team All-GLVC selection.

Kaden Griffitts was named Second Team All-Midwest Region by D2CCA after a dominant offensive season as the Prairie Stars' designated hitter. Griffitts hit .382 with a team-best 1.242 OPS and .768 slugging percentage while launching 19 home runs and driving in 79 RBIs.

His 19 home runs rank fifth in UIS single-season history, while his slugging percentage also places among the program's single-season leaders. He also earned First Team All-GLVC honors this season.

All three players were in their first season with the Prairie Stars and played key roles in helping UIS return to the NCAA Tournament.
