SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team begins a four-game homestand on Thursday with William Jewell before taking on Rockhurst on Saturday. UIS snapped a four-game skid against Missouri S&T on Saturday, Feb. 7 and look to continue that momentum at home.

RECORD BREAKING CHARITY
UIS took 52 free throws on Saturday against the Miners and made a program-record 43 freebies. The Stars posted a season-best performance from the line at a 82 percent clip.

CAREER NIGHT
Junior JJ CRAVATTA scored a game-high and season-best 24 points against Missouri S&T. The guard was 12-for-13 from the line and 5-for-8 from the field.

DOUBLE IT UP
Senior DYLAN SPARKMAN recorded his fourth double-double against Missouri S&T on Saturday with 20 points and 10 rebounds. For his career, the center has 11 double-doubles.

FOLLOW THE SHOT
The Prairie Stars are 8-2 when they outrebound their opponent. On the flip side, if their foes grab more boards, UIS is just 1-10.

William Jewell enters Thursday's game on a two-game losing streak after suffering a tough 74-73 defeat to Lewis and dropping a 68-59 decision to No. 14 UW-Parkside. With a conference record of 5-8, WJC is currently in a three-way tie for fourth in the GLVC West, but is 11th overall. The Cardinals lead the GLVC in 3-point FG defense, holding opponents to just 31 percent from long range. JORDAN LEWIS is leading William Jewell with 14.5 points per game while three others are in double figures.

Last year, the Cardinals picked up an 87-65 victory against UIS. They owned a 38-31 lead at the half and D'Vonte Mosby had a double-double. William Jewell led by as many as 23, 85-62, down the stretch as it shot 51 percent from the floor in the half.  The Prairie Stars converted on only 2 of their 11 three-point attempts in the period and 7 of their 26 attempts in the game.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Rockhurst snapped a three-game losing streak with a big win against West Division foe Maryville on Jan. 31.Ranked sixth in the conference,  RU is blocking 3.14 shots per contest with ADAM FATKIN leading the team with 23. DOMINIQUE WASHINGTON tops the Hawks in points per game with 11.0, while RUSSELL BURNS is second with 10.4 points per contest. Burns also leads the team in rebounds, grabbing 5.9 per game.

UIS remains at home to take on pod members, Lewis & UW-Parkside, on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 21, respectively. The Prairie Stars look to rebound against both squads as they dropped games when they faced the teams on their home courts in January.
