The UIS men's basketball program has been recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for its success in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, earning the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award and placing five student-athletes on the NABC Honors Court.

The Prairie Stars posted a 3.32 team grade-point average during the 2025-26 academic year to earn the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award. The honor recognizes men's basketball programs that achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

Five UIS upperclassmen were also named to the NABC Honors Court: Isaiah Davis, Jordan Rice, Jorden Williams, Marlon Williams, and Tye Banks.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes men's college basketball student-athletes who excel in academics. To qualify, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year.

The academic honors add to another successful year in the classroom for the Prairie Stars, highlighting the program's commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
