-Why did you choose UIS
I chose UIS because I liked the campus and the coaches when I went on the visit. The program was getting better each year so I could see UIS becoming a very good baseball program and I wanted to be a part of that. I did not want to go to a big school so UIS was the perfect size for me.
- How did you get your start in (sport)
?My dad is a huge sports fan so my first memories are watching baseball games with him on TV. I would also play baseball all the time in my backyard as a kid. My first memories are baseball related and I knew from a very early age that I wanted to play baseball at the highest level that I could.
- Why did you continue to play (sport) after high school?
I continued to play baseball after high school because I wanted to play as long as I physically could. Baseball was such a big part of my childhood and I wanted to continue playing in college. I also love to compete and I did not want that to be over. There's not much that beats that feeling of accomplishing a goal in competition.  Another main reason why I continued to play is because I love being a part of a team. I also wanted to get my degree so helping that get paid was another reason why I wanted to continue playing baseball after high school.
- How do you manage your time
?I have a planner that I use to write my all my events that I have for the week. It helped me manage my time between classes, baseball, work, and my other organizations that I was a part of. Everyday, I look at my planner and see what I have to do for the day. This helps me manage my time and know everything that I have to do for the day so I don't forget anything.
- Any pre-game rituals
I will usually have a cup of coffee when I wake up on game day and then I will drink an energy drink when I am at the field during batting practice. Caffeine is a big part of my pre-game rituals.
- What events / organizations have you participated in on campus other than athletics
I am the President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and I am also a part of the campus organization called Christian Student Fellowship (CSF). I am a part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). I also work as a Science peer tutor in the Learning Hub.
- Career goals
I will be going to grad school next year for Pharmacology & Neuroscience and I want to use this grad degree to work at a University. I want to become a professor and do research while teaching a course. I want to work in a lab but I also want to teach so I would love being a Professor because I could do both.
- What do you want people to know about you that they may not know already
?I think I have watched "The Office" at least 20 times. It is easily my favorite show. I am also a huge fan of all sports teams from Detroit. I am also the son of the infamous RW who can be found? on Twitter.
