Kaleigh Inniss led UIS women's track at the IC Thursday Throwdown with a win in the 1500 meters in 5:02.51. The event was the highlight of the day for UIS, as teammate Marissa Roggensack followed closely behind to take second, giving the Prairie Stars the top two spots. Kali Gaden added a ninth-place finish, rounding out UIS' strong showing in the distance race.

In the 800 meters, Audrey Wagoner ran 2:49.65 for 13th, gaining valuable experience against a tough field. The UIS 4x400-meter relay team finished third in 5:25.75.

Assistant coach Kaitlin Skeate praised the team's effort despite challenging conditions. "It was a windy day on the track today and we're in a thick block of training, but I'm proud of our women for competing hard. I'm excited to see what the rest of the season brings for them!"

Madelyn Miller-Ross will be in action Friday night at Stanford, while the full UIS track and field squad returns to competition April 9-10 at the Kip & Kirk Mule Relays in Warrensburg, Mo.
