UIS Softball Away at William Jewell, Game Times Adjusted

The Prairie Stars are headed to the Kansas City area to play the William Jewell Cardinals on Friday. The doubleheader start time has been adjusted to 11:00 a.m. first pitch due to a rainy forecast.

Illinois Springfield (23-11, 7-5 GLVC)
Last weekend, UIS split both road doubleheaders, going 2-2 overall. The Prairie Stars fell 5-0 in the opener at Drury before bouncing back with a 12-11 win. On Sunday, UIS took game one against Missouri S&T, 7-4, before dropping the finale 5-1.

The UIS pitching staff is experienced and has proven its ability to limit runs, ranking second in the GLVC with a 2.25 ERA and holding opponents to a .225 batting average.

Emme Steward leads the UIS lineup with a .356 average and 1.075 OPS, while Rosie Bartletti (.337) and Rebecca Neupauer (.322) provide consistency at the top. Bartletti also contributes in the circle with a 1.64 ERA, alongside Calista Stahlhut (2.03 ERA) and Alexis Carroll (2.80 ERA).

William Jewell (15-19, 6-6 GLVC)
William Jewell is led offensively by Mikayla Chairez, who is hitting .500 with a 1.369 OPS, along with 55 hits, 10 doubles, and six home runs. She was recently named to the NFCA Division II Player of the Year Watchlist.

Amanda Chung (.346) and Avery Webster (.303) add depth to the Cardinals lineup.

In the circle, Reagan Bennett leads the staff with a 3.78 ERA over 63.0 innings. Olivia Wood (4.74 ERA) and Avrey Reynolds (5.58 ERA) have also seen significant time, while the staff as a whole has allowed a .308 opponent batting average.
