UIS Women’s Track Competing at Two Sites This Weekend

4/16/2026 7:25:00 PM

UIS women's track & field will split competition across the country this weekend, with a pair of distance runners heading to Azusa, California, for the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, while the bulk of the squad competes at the Gibson Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana.

At Azusa Pacific, competition is divided into two sessions on Friday. In the morning session, Marissa Roggensack will race in the 5,000 meters, competing in heat three with an estimated start time of 7:50 a.m. PT. She opened her outdoor season three weeks ago with an 18:30 performance at the WashU Distance Carnival and will look to improve on that mark, which currently ranks 14th in the GLVC.

Later in the evening, Madelyn Miller-Ross will make her outdoor debut in the 5,000 meters at 11:25 p.m. PT. She enters the race coming off an All-America performance in the same event indoors and will take on a deep field at one of the nation's premier distance meets.

Back in the Midwest, the Prairie Stars will compete at Indiana State's Gibson Invitational, beginning with the 5,000 meters on Friday evening at 6:40 p.m. ET. The 5K squad is led by Kaleigh Inniss and Josslyn Gaona, both of whom have run times under 18 minutes in their careers, highlighting a strong distance group for UIS.

Saturday's schedule includes field events in the morning, followed by running events starting at noon ET. UIS will also be represented in the middle distances, with Kali Gaden set to compete in the 800 meters and Audrey Wagoner in the 1,500 meters, along with entries in the 100-meter dash and 400 meters.

Live stats will be available for both meets, with streaming coverage of the Bryan Clay Invitational on FloTrack.
