UIS competed Thursday and Friday at the Kip & Kirk Outdoor Mule Relays, turning in several strong performances across middle-distance and distance races.
In the Women's 1500-meter invitational heat, Marissa Roggensack led the Prairie Stars with a 4:53 to place 18th. In the open 1500, Audrey Wagoner finished 42nd in 5:33.
In the Women's invitational 5,000-meter run, Josslyn Gaona placed 25th in 18:44.
The Prairie Stars closed out Thursday's action in the 10,000 meters, where Mackenzie Billard placed 10th in 39:11 in a solid collegiate debut for the freshman. Olivia Thomsen finished 18th in 43:18, followed by Allison Thompson in 19th at 44:41.
On Friday, Kali Gaden represented UIS in the open 800 meters, placing 10th in 2:26 for her best mark of the season across both indoor and outdoor competition.
Next up, UIS will send a small group to the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, while the majority of the team heads to Terre Haute, Indiana, for Indiana State's Gibson Invitational.
