The Illinois Springfield men's golf team sits in a tie for first place after Monday's opening 18 holes of the Dan Salisbury Memorial Collegiate Invitational at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur, Ill. UIS and Quincy both finished the day at 2-under-par, leading a 14-team field heading into Tuesday's final round.

The Prairie Stars were paced by a strong pair of one-under performances from Sacha Lamraski and Daniel Edwards, each posting rounds of 71 to sit tied for sixth individually. Julien Babineau and Vilgot Arleback both carded even-par 72s to stay inside the top 15, while Jake Baldin and Sahachat Noosong each finished at four-over 76.

Charlie Prins and Jacob LeBlanc rounded out the UIS squad at six-over 78.

Quincy's Brayden Buffington leads the individual field after firing a five-under 67.

With 18 holes remaining, UIS will look to convert its share of the lead into a home victory when play concludes Tuesday.
