Illinois Springfield Director of Athletics Mike Hermann has announced the promotion of Nicole Hager to Deputy Director of Athletics. In her expanded role, Hager will assume additional leadership responsibilities, focusing on initiatives that support student-athlete success both academically and athletically.  

"Nicole's promotion to Deputy Director of Athletics underscores her proven leadership and her integral role in advancing the strategic priorities of our department," said Hermann. "Her steadfast dedication to the success and well-being of our student-athletes makes her exceptionally well-suited for this position."  

Hager will continue to oversee academic advising for all undergraduate student-athletes and will serve as the primary athletics liaison to key campus partners.  

Entering her ninth year with UIS Athletics, Hager has previously held positions as the Director of Academic Support Services for Athletics and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Compliance. Additionally, she will maintain her role as the department's Senior Woman Administrator, a position she has held since 2023.
