Seven UIS golf student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, with four members of the women's program and three members of the men's program receiving recognition. Senior golfer
Elaine Grant advanced to the Academic All-America ballot and will be considered for national honors.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes who have achieved at least sophomore academic and athletic standing, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and meet competition requirements for their respective sports.
The UIS men's golf honorees were
Daniel Edwards, an Exercise Science major;
Sacha Lamraski, a Business Administration major; and
Sahachat Noosong, a Computer Science major.
Representing the UIS women's golf program were
Elaine Grant, a Business Administration major;
Ira Joshi, a Legal Studies major;
Lia Rody, a Psychology major; and
Valentina Torrealba, a Business Administration major.
Edwards, Grant, and Joshi conclude their UIS careers as four-year members of the Prairie Stars golf program.
Grant recently made an appearance at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship after earning medalist honors at the NCAA East Regional. A three-time All-GLVC selection and two-time national qualifier, she will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America voting process.
