The Illinois Springfield women's track and field team will head to Indiana State University for the Gibson Invitational this Friday evening and Saturday. The meet marks the conclusion of the regular season for the Prairie Stars.

Norah Wright will return to the 3,000 meter steeplechase this weekend. Emma Leahy, Allison Thompson, and Marissa Roggensack are entered in the 5,000 meter run.

The Prairie Stars will also have a strong presence in the 1,500 meters with Lillian Buzani, Josslyn Gaona, and Maggie Von Hatten. Buzani will double back in the 800 meters, joining teammates Kali Gaden and Camille Terre in that event.

GLVC Performance List
The Gibson Invitational is the final opportunity for UIS athletes to secure or improve their positions on the GLVC performance list ahead of the conference championships.

In the 1,500 meters, Marissa Roggensack is currently the lone Prairie Star in the top 24, ranked No. 14 with a time of 4:50.56. In the 5,000 meters, Josslyn Gaona holds the No. 8 spot with a time of 17:51.54, while Emma Leahy is No. 21 in 18:54.31. Three other UIS runners are also currently within qualifying range.

Norah Wright ranks No. 10 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a season-best 12:39.21.
