After a dominant weekend in the circle, UIS standout Rosie Bartletti has been named the Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week. Bartletti's performance was highlighted by a historic outing against Lincoln on Sunday, March 30, when she threw the first perfect game in UIS history against a Division II opponent.

Bartletti was nearly untouchable across three appearances, finishing the weekend with a 3-0 record. She pitched a total of 16.0 innings, earning two complete-game victories while striking out 15 batters. She allowed just seven hits and two earned runs, posting an impressive 0.88 ERA. Opposing hitters managed just a .132 batting average against her, as she controlled the strike zone and kept offenses off balance throughout the weekend.

Her perfect game against Lincoln cemented her place in UIS history, as she retired all 18 batters she faced with a masterful performance.

Bartletti's efforts also played a crucial role in another milestone, as UIS Head Coach Shannon Guthrie earned her 300th career victory during the weekend's action. The junior pitcher's command and composure under pressure helped propel the Prairie Stars to a statement weekend and further solidify their place in the GLVC race.

This honor marks a significant achievement for Bartletti and the UIS softball program, showcasing the team's continued growth and success on the national stage. With her dominant stretch in the circle, Bartletti has set the tone for the remainder of the season as UIS looks to build on its momentum in conference play.

Bartletti and the Prairie Stars will be back in action this week against McKendree and Maryville.

The NFCA awards National Players and Pitchers of the Week for NCAA Division I, II, and III. The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA's eight regions.
