The University of Illinois Springfield softball team will travel to St. Joseph, Mo. on Tuesday for a midweek competition against Missouri Western State University. The doubleheader is set to start at 1 p.m., with both games being streamed on the MIAA Network. 

The teams met at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville, Ark. earlier this season. The Griffons won that matchup 6-1. UIS has four wins and nine losses in the all-time series versus Missouri Western. 

UIS is coming off of a shutout against the McKendree Bearcats on Sunday that ended a streak of four losses. 

Missouri Western won three of their last six, including a split against the Rockhurst Hawks. The Griffons are 21-8 overall and an even 4-4 in MIAA play, while UIS is 20-13 on the season and 2-4 in GLVC competition.
