Brian Riordan was tabbed the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer after another two-shutout weekend for UIS men's soccer. The St. Louis, Mo. native inked his name in the Prairie Stars record book with a hat trick in the team's 7-0 win over Southwest Baptist on Friday.

Riordan produced the third hat trick in the program's DII era after being moved to right wing for the first time in Friday's game. He took seven shots, six on goal, in just 49 minutes.

"We have a chance to really do something this year," shared Riordan after the first win of the weekend. "From the first minute tonight we dominated the play and took care of business. We always talk about playing to each other's strengths and some of us have been playing together for years."

UIS men's soccer is off to a 7-0 GLVC start. The 7-0 win ties the program record for goals in a single game. The team approaches the program's shutout streak record of eight games, set by the 1997 Prairie Stars during their NAIA era.

The last UIS men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week was Joe Conway on 9/18/23.
