The UIS men's soccer team moved to No. 18 this week in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, announced by the organization on Tuesday. The 6-1-2 (5-0 GLVC) Prairie Stars are ranked for the third consecutive week, and for the fourth time in five weeks so far this season.
UIS continued its streak of shutouts on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over the Quincy Hawks, decided in the 14th minute by
Or Levinstein.
Levinstein currently leads the GLVC with five goals in seven games while
Max Tweddle is second in the conference with five assists, and
Joe Conway is third with two game-winning goals.
A win on Friday night would make UIS the first GLVC men's soccer team to 6-0 this season, as Indianapolis and Lewis currently sit atop the conference at 5-0-1.
UIS also moved into second in the Midwest Region poll after remaining in third position or below every other week this season. Indianapolis leads the region at 7-0-2.
