The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced the brackets for the 2022 GLVC Softball Championship Tournament, which begins on Thursday in East Peoria, Ill. The University of Illinois Springfield softball team will be the sixth-seed in the tournament, and will face third-seed Drury in the first-round.
 
UIS, which will be making its fifth straight conference tournament appearance, finished the regular season with a 31-18 overall record, and it tied for sixth in the final conference standings with a 15-13 mark. Drury tied for third in the conference with a 21-7 GLVC record, and it is 35-14 overall on the season.
 
UIS and Drury ended the regular season playing each other. The Panthers won the contests by scores of 4-0 and 10-2.
 
UIS and Drury will face off on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that game will take on the winner of the Indianapolis/Rockhurst contest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two non-winners on that side of the bracket will play in an elimination game at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The other side of the bracket includes Lindenwood, Missouri-St. Louis, Southern Indiana, and Maryville.
