The University of Illinois Springfield women's track and field team was in action at the Greenville Select Invitational on Friday. The Prairie Stars scored two points and finished 12th at the event.
 
Gloria Esarco captured the team's two points after finishing seventh in the 800m. She had a finishing time of 2:24.57.
 
UIS competed in five other events, two of which they were led by Olivia Stephens. Stephens had a time of 13.91 in the 100m and 29.30 in the 200m. Also on the track, Breanna Chandler came in 11th in the 1,500m with a time of 5:10.50.
 
In field events, Ellie Shonkwiler was 14th in the javelin with a throw of 69-5, and Claire Eaton had a mark of 23-7.5 in the shot put.
 
UIS will be in action next week at the Dick Cochran Classic in St. Charles, Mo.
