The University of Illinois Springfield softball team returns home this weekend for a doubleheader against Quincy.
 
The Prairie Stars are 20-12 on the season, and 4-8 in GLVC play. UIS picked up its biggest victory of the year last Sunday, as it split a doubleheader with one of the top-five ranked teams in the nation, Indianapolis. UIS also split a doubleheader with Lewis over the last seven days.
 
UIS ranks in the top four in the GLVC in most offensive categories, including batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs, and RBI. The Prairie Stars also rank fifth in the league with a 3.02 ERA.
 
Individually, Carly Chovanec is the current GLVC leader with 33 runs and 30 stolen bases. Danielle Dennis paces the league with 35 RBI.

Quincy enters play this week with a 9-20 overall record. The Hawks are 3-9 in GLVC play. Last time out, Quincy split a doubleheader versus Indianapolis.
 
Jayle Jennings starts the Quincy offense with a .423 on-base percentage. She has scored 17 times on the season. Allyson Maynard leads the team with five home runs and 16 RBI. Bailey Mitchell has a .573 slugging percentage, and has collected 12 runs and 13 RBI.
 
On the mound, Jayle Jennings has a team-best 2.43 ERA. She is 2-4 on the year with one save.
 
Last season, Quincy swept a doubleheader against UIS. The Hawks won two close games by scores of 2-1 and 4-2.
