The University of Illinois Springfield softball team will end a two-week break this Sunday with a road doubleheader against GLVC rival Quincy.

Pitching has been a key to the team's season though. UIS is 8-3 when allowing five or fewer runs, but just one victory when allowing over that mark.

Ashley Klinzing leads the GLVC with 33 hits and 16 stolen bases, and her 20 runs is one off the GLVC lead. Jillian Mathis is fifth in the conference with a .424 batting average, and Natalie Cokel and Kelsie Burrows are in the top-four in stolen bases.

Reagan Miles leads the pitching staff with three wins and one save. In her last three appearances, Addison Bryant has thrown 6 1/3 innings, and allowed just two earned runs.

Each individual GLVC school will determine their own attendance policy for softball. Please check the policies of the home teams if interested in attending a contest. (Quincy)
