The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced its NCAA Division II regional and national rankings following play in the fall semester. University of Illinois Springfield men's players
Menno Servaes and
Tomas Martinez were both nationally-ranked as singles players.

Servaes was ranked 35th nationally in singles, and was third in the region rankings. This fall, Servaes went 10-2 in singles play. He reached the semifinal round at the ITA Regional Tournament, and advanced to the championship match at the UIS Invitational. His only NCAA Division II loss was to the No. 18 singles player in the nation.

Martinez was ranked 40th nationally in singles, and was fourth in the region rankings. Martinez started the year by compiling an 8-3 record in singles action. He also advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Regional Tournament before falling to the No. 7 singles player in NCAA Division II. All three of his losses came in a third-set tiebreaker.

In his career, Servaes is now 39-14 in singles play, and 72-30 overall. Martinez is 53-28 in his career in singles play, and 104-58 overall.
