UIS Men's Tennis Welcomes Rockhurst for Sunday Match

The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team returns to action Sunday morning when it hosts Rockhurst in a non-conference match at the Velasco Tennis Center at Washington Park. The match is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

Illinois Springfield (5-5)
UIS enters the contest with a 5-5 overall record. The Prairie Stars most recently played an exhibition against Illinois State, while their last Division II match was a 5-2 loss to Purdue Northwest on March 6.

In doubles play against Purdue Northwest, Lukas Pieringer and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel earned a 6-2 win on court three.

Pablo Herrera picked up a victory at No. 1 singles after winning the first set 6-2 and leading 1-0 in the second before his opponent retired. Lin En Tan also earned a point for the Prairie Stars with a three-set win at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (7-0), 5-7, 10-6.

Rockhurst (4-3)
Rockhurst enters the weekend with a 4-3 record. The Hawks recently lost 5-1 to McKendree before responding with a 5-2 win over Missouri-St. Louis and a 6-1 victory over Maryville.

Ollie Dickason has been one of Rockhurst's top contributors in singles play and enters the match with a 4-3 record in the middle of the lineup.
