The UIS men's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Quincy on Friday afternoon. UIS started strong by taking the doubles point, highlighted by wins from No. 2 Kai Van-Roon and Miran Todorovic, 6-2, and No. 3 Lukas Pieringer and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel, 6-4. The No. 1 doubles team of Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan fell 6-2.
In singles action, UIS collected wins at positions 3, 4, and 5. At No. 3, Lin En Tan defeated his opponent 7-5, 6-4. Kai Van-Roon secured a straight-set win at No. 4, 6-3, 7-6 (6), while Luke Pennington triumphed at No. 5, 7-5, 6-3. Pablo Herrera at No. 1 lost 6-3, 6-1, Antonio Ayerbe Streubel at No. 2 fell 7-6 (1), 6-2, and No. 6 Lukas Pieringer dropped his match 6-4, 6-3.
