11/3/2021 4:26:00 PM

The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team retained one of the top spots in the latest NCAA Division II Super Region rankings. The Prairie Stars were fourth in the rankings of Super-Region 3 programs that were released on Wednesday.

The GLVC occupies four of the top five spots in the rankings. Maryville is first, followed by Indianapolis, and Lewis is fifth behind the Prairie Stars. Parkside is the lone non-GLVC team in the top-five as it ranks third.

Rounding out the rankings are Lake Erie, Cedarville, Ohio Dominican, Fort Hays State, Davenport, Saginaw Valley State, and Upper Iowa.

UIS ended its regular season with an 11-4-1 overall record, and it finished second in the GLVC with a 10-2-1 mark. The Prairie Stars are the two-seed in the upcoming GLVC Championship Tournament, and they will host Missouri-St. Louis this Sunday in a first-round game.
