Women's Golf Finishes In Top Half At Benbow Invitational

The University of Illinois Springfield women's golf team was in action on Monday and Tuesday at the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. The Prairie Stars finished in the upper half of the mostly NCAA Division I competition.
 
The Prairie Stars shot a 307 in the first round and was second in the standings. The team slipped a little in the second round with a 323, but still finished fourth in the eight-team meet.
 
Jennifer Queller led UIS with a top-ten individual finish. She shot a one-over 73 on day one, and had a total of 155 for the tournament. Ocean Pangan was the team's day two leader with a 78, which was also her day one total. She finished 15th overall.
 
Maria Espinosa and Paula Valdivia both had identical rounds of 78 and 82 for a two-day mark of 160. Sasha Glickfield rounded out the team with a 172 score.
 
UIS will be in action again on March 24-25 at the Saluki Invitational in Marion, Ill.
