10/3/2019 2:30:00 PM

The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team looks to remain near the top of the GLVC standings this week with a pair of home games. The Prairie Stars will take on Quincy on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a Sunday noon contest against Truman State.

UIS (5-3-0, 4-1-0)
UIS pushed its GLVC winning streak to four games last week with a 1-0 victory at Missouri S&T. That winning streak was the longest in program history for the Prairie Stars in conference action. The streak came to an end on Sunday, after UIS outshot Maryville, but fell by a 2-0 margin.

The Prairie Stars have had one of the top defenses in the GLVC this year. They are allowing just 0.60 goals a game in conference action, which ranks third in the league. Offensively, UIS is tied for seventh in GLVC games by scoring 1.00 goals a contest.

Maggie Juhlin is off to a quick start this season with five goals, which is already a top-five UIS single-season mark. She has three game-winning goals this year, and her five career game-winning goals are a new Prairie Stars record. Lauren Griffin has four assists, one shy of the UIS single-season record. Bailey Cross enters play this week with a 1.00 GAA, which would be a new school record if she keeps that pace.

About Quincy (2-5-0, 1-4-0)
Quincy enters play on Friday on a three-game losing streak, and it has lost five out of its last six games. The Hawks are now 2-5-0 on the year, and 1-4-0 in GLVC play. All five of its setbacks have been by a shutout.

In GLVC games, the Hawks are 11th by allowing 1.40 goals a contest, and they rank 15th by scoring 0.40 goals a game.

Maddie Bauer leads the team with two goals in 2019, including both game-winners. Emilee Autry has been the team's only goalie this year, and she has a 1.14 GAA and .833 save percentage.
