The University of Illinois Springfield women's golf team took runner-up honors in both individual and team play at the Dan Salisbury Memorial over the weekend at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill.

UIS was in the lead after shooting a 312 on day one of the event. It shot a 322 on Sunday to finish with a 634. Southern Indiana was eight shot better though for the final round, and ended up winning the event by two shots.

Jennifer Queller opened the tournament with a three-under 69, and that round was the lowest total over the weekend. She finished tied for second after a two-round score of 152. Queller led the tournament with six birdies.

Two other Prairie Stars also had top-six finishes.
Ocean Pangan and
Maria Espinosa both shot 80 on day one. Pangan shot a team-best 77 on Sunday and finished with a 157 which tied for fourth. Espinosa was sixth after a two-round score of 158. Pangan led the tournament with a 4.20 average on the par-four holes.

Paula Valdivia shot a 167, and
Sasha Glickfield carded a 178.
Charlotte Ng competed as an individual and scored a 183.

The Prairie Stars will be on the course again on Oct. 13-14 at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational in Owensboro, Ky.
