EUREKA, MO – The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) women's golf team closed out the Great Lake Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships in third place, wrapping up the three-day tournament on Sunday.

UIS matched the best finished in program history in the conference meet after taking third last season. The Prairie Stars compiled a 54-hole team score of 956 after shooting rounds of 313, 318 and 325.

Maria Espinosa captured ninth with a score of 231. The junior from Ibague, Colombia fired rounds of 73, 79 and 79 on the par-72 layout at Fox Run Golf Club.

Ocean Pangan tied for 15th with a 239, shooting rounds of 78, 78 and 83.
Taryn Pittman claimed 17th with a 242 after providing round scores of 85, 78 and 79.
Jennifer Queller secured 19th with a 245, carding rounds of 77, 84 and 84.
Brooke Hill finished 31st with a 253 to round out the UIS scorers, recording rounds of 85, 83 and 85.

The University of Indianapolis coasted to its seventh-consecutive GLVC title after locking up four of the top five spots in the individual standings and tallying a team score of 886. Indianapolis set three conference-meet records, which include lowest round score (287 in Round 3), lowest 54-hole score and largest margin of victory (37 strokes). The University of Missouri-St. Louis came in second with a 923, finishing ahead of UIS (956), the University of Southern Indiana (989) and Truman State University (1,000). Lewis University and William Jewell College tied for sixth with team scores of 1,001. McKendree University (1,018) and Drury University (1,029) secured eighth and ninth, respectively. Missouri S&T and Rockhurst University tied for 10th with scores of 1,050, finishing ahead of Maryville University (1,056), Bellarmine University (1,070) and Quincy University (1,071), which rounds out the team standings.

Indianapolis posted first, two T-3 finishes and fifth in the individual standings. Paxton DeHaven claimed the individual crown with a 219, firing rounds of 74, 74 and 71. Katharina Keilich and Pilar Echeverria both tied for third with a 231. Echeverria carded rounds of 74, 79 and 70 while Keilich compiled rounds of 75, 76 and 72. Annika Haynes took fifth with a 227, recording rounds 73, 75 and 79.

Truman State's Nicolle Barmettler secured second with a 227 after posting rounds of 73, 78 and 71.

UIS is currently ranked No. 6 in the latest NCAA Midwest Regional rankings and has the potential to earn a bid to its third-consecutive NCAA Super Regional. This year's super-regional is scheduled for May 7-9 at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, MI.
