SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (8-16, 3-12) conclude a four-game road trip when they travel to (14) Southern Indiana (23-2, 13-2) and (4) Bellarmine (22-3, 14-1) as they look to keep their GLVC tournament hopes alive. UIS looks to avenge earlier losses to both the Screamin' Eagles and Knights in early December.
SETTING THE SCENE
The Prairie Stars ended a six-game slide last week with a win at Missouri S&T but fell to Drury on Saturday to end the week. UIS is currently T-13 in the conference and in the hunt with five other teams for the final spot in the 12-team tournament. UIS will face the two best teams in the league before ending the regular season in what will be a crucial game against McKendree on Thursday, February 23
rd.
Southern Indiana enters the week having won four straight games after a 66-81 upset loss against Indianapolis. Their only other loss on the season came in a 78-70 loss at home against Bellarmine. The Screamin' Eagles currently hold the best record in the GLVC at 23-2 and .920 winning percentage.
Bellarmine comes into the weekend with the conferences longest winning streak of nine games. They haven't lost since January 13
th after a 77-72 loss at Truman State.
CONFERENCE RANKS
The Prairie Stars rank seventh in the league in overall three-point percentage, hitting 38.2 percent from deep.
Vince Walker leads UIS in this category, hitting at a 42.4 percent clip.
Lijah Donnelly and
Paxton Harmon also connect at better than 40 percent. Walker's 64 three's on the season rank seventh individually.
UIS rank fourth in defensive rebounds, grabbing 27.50 per game.

th in scoring (14.6), 17
th in rebounds (5.5), and 9
th in assists (4.21). He also ranks third in minutes per game, logging 33.62 minutes.
80 STILL THE MARK
When the Prairie Stars score at least 80 points, they hold an 8-1 record. When UIS fails to reach the 80-point plateau, they hold an 0-15 record.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
UIS is 4-5 in true road games this year, matching their win total in home games where they are 4-11 on the year. All three GLVC wins have come on the road: McKendree, William Jewell, Missouri S&T.
A LOOK AT THE RECORD BOOKS
Zach Steinberg is now 21
st all-time in scoring, totaling 522 points. He is approaching
Mark Weems, who is the active leader with 582 points.
Logan Gonce sits 13
th on the all-time assist list, with 124 total assists.
Walker and Harmon continue to climb the three-point list. Walker is now fifth all time and just four away from becoming the fifth player to eclipse 100 career three's. Harmon needs three more to break into the top-10, having connecting with 78 threes' in his career.
Steinberg is now seventh in total rebound with 362. With some work, Steinberg could get to 400 career rebounds by the end of the season and become the fourth player to reach that mark.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN INDIANA
The Screamin' Eagles are led by Jeril Taylor who averages 20.9 points per game which leads the GLVC. Alex Stein ranks seventh, putting in 17.0 points per contest. Stein and Taylor also lead the assist charge, as Stein dishes out 4.0 assists per game and Taylor 3.0. On the season, Taylor averages, 20.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
SCOUTING BELLARMINE
The Knights have three players score over 10 points per game, led by Adam Eberhard with 17.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. The Knights shoot 53.4 percent from the field as a team and 43.1 percent from three. Five different players average over two assists per game.
LAST TIME OUT
UIS fell to both Bellarmine and Southern Indiana earlier this year, falling to Bellarmine 63-67 in the GLVC opener before getting bested by Southern Indiana 75-86.
