SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The UIS women's tennis team set a program record for wins in a season when the bested Blackburn College 9-0 at Washington Park on Saturday afternoon. The Prairie Stars fell to GLVC opponent Bellarmine earlier in the day 9-0 but turned things around to close out the day.

The Prairie Stars struggled against the Knights, falling in all three doubles matches, notching just two sets in the three matches combined.
Jane Carter and
Faith Hook, who had won three of their last five doubles matches, fell in the top spot.
In singles, Carter took Maggie Walroth to three sets before falling 10-4 in the third for just her third singles loss in her last 13 matches.
Jasmin Morgan fell in straight sets in the third slot, 6-1, 6-4 while Hook fell 6-2 in both sets.

In their record setting win, the Prairie Stars dominated the court on what was the final home match for senior
Faith Hook. UIS dropped just one set in all three doubles matches combined as Carter and Hook and Morgan and Danquah each shut out their opponents.
In singles, Morgan won 6-1, 6-2 in the third slot while all other five matches ended in 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
With the win, UIS grabbed their 11
th win of the season, setting a program record while going 2-4 in conference play.
