For the third consecutive year, the UIS women's tennis team has earned Jimmy John's Academic Team of the Year honors, finishing the 2025-26 academic year with a department-best 3.93 GPA. The mark was the highest team GPA in the GLVC as well.

Women's tennis continued its outstanding work in the classroom throughout the year. The program earned both Academic All-GLVC Team and ITA All-Academic Team recognition, while every student-athlete on the roster was named an Academic All-GLVC selection and an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Cristina Mendoza Romero, Ema Norma Bordean, and Niamh Grogan also earned CSC Academic All-District honors.

Presented annually through UIS Athletics' partnership with Jimmy John's, the Academic Team of the Year award recognizes the department's top-performing team academically. Women's tennis has claimed the honor in each of the last three years, a testament to the program's sustained commitment to excellence on and off the court.

Women's tennis led another strong semester for UIS Athletics, which posted a 3.62 department GPA in Spring 2026.
