UIS Women's Tennis Set for ITA Regional Championship Weekend

The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team will compete in the ITA Regional Small College Championship, hosted by Grand Valley State, Oct. 10-12. The Prairie Stars will be represented across all three singles and doubles flights, with seven players entered in singles competition.

UIS will have players competing in Flights A, B and C. Flight A features Grace Lampman and Linea Louise Lyndsgard-Broddfelt, while Niamh Grogan and Olivia Sibbering will compete in Flight B. Jane Carter, Brianna Bryant and Alisha Deogaonkar round out the Prairie Stars' singles entries in Flight C.

Flights A and B begin with the round of 64, while Flight C opens with a round of 62. Singles play begins Saturday at 8 a.m. and will resume in the afternoon following the completion of the opening rounds. Consolation draws will also be played.

The Prairie Stars will also have three doubles teams competing across the tournament's three flights. Grogan and Lampman will team up in Flight A, Carter and Lyndsgard-Broddfelt will compete in Flight B, and Sibbering and Deogaonkar will represent Illinois Springfield in Flight C.

Flights A and B begin with the round of 32, while Flight C opens with the round of 16. Doubles play is scheduled to begin Saturday at 4:30 p.m., following singles competition, with players potentially completing up to two singles rounds before taking the court for doubles.

The three-day championship runs through Monday, Oct. 12, with the Prairie Stars looking to make their mark against regional competition.
